Have you ever run into the problem of there being more month than money?
I know for myself and my family this was an issue several times during my first 15 years of teaching. As a husband and a father to 3 wonderful kids, I have always viewed myself as the main provider of the house.
But as our family began to grow faster than my income, I felt the financial stress increase. And that stress only increased as I watched friends with different careers increase their lifestyles and give more back to their families. I struggled when I couldn’t “keep up with the Joneses” on my teacher’s salary so I worked every extra-duty assignment I could find trying to give my family the life they deserved.
Danielle’s Struggle
After William, our oldest, was born I was torn between being a mom and being a teacher. I was just a few years into my teaching career and loved my students and impact I was making on their lives. And I also wanted to make an equal impact on my own son’s life. I cried as I would have to drive him to day care every morning. Even though he was in good hands, they weren’t mine.
After it was discovered that I was pregnant with Madison, our second child, my career as a teacher took a turn when my principal chose to non-reelect me (yes, I was fired for being pregnant and having another child at home). While we were victorious in court in proving the school district was unlawful in their actions, the multi-year process took a toll on me.
I took a job teaching for an online public charter school so I could both teach and stay home with my 2 young children. I was working to find balance, but was always torn between family and career. Finally when Alexis, our youngest was born, I stepped away from teaching.
We were now down to only earning the income of one teacher’s salary in the house. The financial stress mounted and things got worse before they got better.
Our Solution
In the past two years we have been able to take our passion for helping others and build a second source of income around it. As we started to see results from out own personal weightloss journey, coworkers, friends, and family members began to ask us for help. And from this idea of sharing and helping others, The Fit Teacher Network was created.
There’s a saying in education that “we do it for the outcome, not the income.” But what if you could have both? The job you love helping others and the income to live the lifestyle you have always dreamed of.
No more lunch supervision. No more teaching Saturday school. And no more Summer school.
We are at the point now where we have a successful system in place and are in need of business partners. People who are passionate about helping others while building their own life by design. This is not a “get rich quick” scheme, but a business that pays you to help others improve their health and fitness.
One last thing. We are not looking for employees. So if you are looking for a “job” this isn’t the right fit for you. We don’t force you to work or set your hours. Instead we will work with you to help you build your business. And the more people you help, the more successful you’ll become.
